Logistics FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about DidiChem's logistics services -- bonded warehousing, split shipment, and door-to-door delivery.

Category 01

Bonded Warehousing

What is bonded warehousing and how does DidiChem use it?

A bonded warehouse is a customs-supervised facility where goods can be stored before import duties are paid. DidiChem leverages bonded warehousing to pre-position commonly requested chemical raw materials and intermediates, enabling faster order fulfillment -- often cutting lead times from weeks to just 2-5 business days for in-stock items.

Which products are available from bonded stock?

Our bonded inventory covers high-frequency fine chemicals, pharmaceutical intermediates, and specialty reagents. Availability changes regularly. Contact our team at sales@didichem.com or +86-15288742231 for a real-time stock check before placing an order.

Are there minimum order quantities for bonded warehouse goods?

No. One of DidiChem's core advantages is eliminating the high MOQ barrier. You can order as little as a few grams or a single kilogram from our bonded stock -- ideal for lab-scale trials, R&D samples, or urgent top-up orders without committing to bulk quantities.

How are customs duties handled for bonded warehouse shipments?

Goods stored in a bonded warehouse are held under customs bond -- duties and taxes are deferred until the goods are formally imported. DidiChem handles all customs declaration paperwork on your behalf. For domestic Chinese customers, goods are released after standard import clearance; for export orders, goods can be shipped directly under the bonded status, often with simplified procedures.

Split Shipment

What is a split shipment and when should I request one?

A split shipment means your total order is divided into multiple separate deliveries dispatched at different times. This is ideal when: (1) you need part of the order urgently while the rest is still being synthesized; (2) your storage capacity is limited; or (3) regulatory limits require shipping hazardous materials in smaller quantities per consignment.

Does split shipment incur additional charges?

Each individual shipment incurs its own packaging and freight cost. However, DidiChem offers competitive consolidated rates and will clearly outline all split-shipment fees in your quotation before order confirmation -- no hidden charges. For urgent first-batch dispatches, we prioritize speed over cost efficiency and will advise the most economical split plan.

How do I track multiple split shipments from one order?

Once each batch ships, our customer service team sends a dedicated dispatch notification with the tracking number, carrier name, estimated arrival, and a summary of what's included in that batch. All tracking details are also consolidated in a single order summary email so you always have a clear view of your full order status.

Can I change the split schedule after the order is confirmed?

Yes, provided the batch has not yet been dispatched. Contact your dedicated account manager or email sales@didichem.com as early as possible. Once a batch is handed to the carrier, the shipment schedule for that batch cannot be changed, but future batches can still be adjusted.

Door-to-Door Delivery

What does DidiChem's door-to-door delivery service include?

Our door-to-door (D2D) service covers the entire logistics chain: export packing at our Jinan facility, dangerous goods declaration (if applicable), export customs clearance, international freight (air or courier), destination import customs clearance, and final-mile delivery to your specified address. You simply provide your delivery address -- we handle everything in between.

Which countries and regions do you deliver to?

We ship to over 60 countries across Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America, the Middle East, and beyond. Coverage for certain hazardous chemical categories may be restricted by international aviation or maritime regulations. Our logistics team will confirm deliverability and the best routing for your specific product and destination at the quotation stage.

How long does door-to-door delivery typically take?

Transit times depend on destination and chosen service level:

3-5
Days -- Asia-Pacific
(Express courier)
5-8
Days -- Europe / N. America
(Air freight)
7-14
Days -- Other regions
(Standard service)

* Excludes production time. Customs clearance delays at destination are outside our control.

How are hazardous chemicals handled during door-to-door shipping?

DidiChem has extensive experience shipping IATA/IMDG-classified dangerous goods. We prepare compliant SDS, dangerous goods declarations, and UN-spec packaging in-house. For highly restricted substances, we work with licensed dangerous goods forwarders and advise on the safest, most compliant routing. All shipments come with full documentation including CoA, SDS, and packing list.

What happens if my package is delayed or lost in transit?

We proactively monitor all shipments. If a delay is detected, our team contacts you within 24 hours with an updated ETA. In the rare event of loss or damage, we initiate a carrier claim immediately and arrange a priority replacement shipment. All D2D orders include cargo insurance as standard; additional coverage is available upon request.
